cPanel announced the release of cPanel VPS ptimized. This product is a new version of the extremely popular hosting control panel software cPanel / WHM. cPanel VPS Optimized is a unique offering as it provides the already feature rich functionality of cPanel / WHM while reducing memory usage by up to 60% on VPS instances.

"We're very excited to be able to offer a technology to our customers that provides a higher level of efficiency while still maintaining the industry leading feature set that we're so well known for," said cPanel's CEO J. Nick Koston.

cPanel VPS Optimized represents a great step forward for cPanel customers as all new installs and upgrades of cPanel / WHM on VPS machines will be upgraded to cPanel VPS optimized on April 7, 2008. The reduction in memory usage per install will allow web hosts to achieve a higher level of account density per machine. This increase in density will enable hosts to provide a more efficient and eco-friendly server base as it will allow for fewer physical machines, among other costs.
